Our sustainable approach
By now, we should all be aware of climate change and the impacts our actions are having on our present and future planet and environment. Climate change is a scary and real issue that we all need to start working on to improve the quality of our world. Here at the Nip Tuck Swim Headquarters we are doing our best to make positive, environmentally friendly changes to improve our carbon footprint so we can all benefit in the future.
The first step to changing our impact on the environment was with our labeling. Our swing tags, cup discs, hygiene stickers and care labels have all been changed to FSC certificated materials as well as made up with a % of recycled materials. While these seem like small items it is a start to improvement, and it is just the beginning of our changes.
As we started with labeling and got that down pat, we have moved onto a bigger surface area.
ABOUT OUR RECYCLED FABRIC:
We have been sourcing recycled fabric for a while now and we did not want to settle for anything but the best. SO, when we came across the recycled fabric we use now, we were over the moon.
When looking for the perfect recycled fabric we wanted a fabric that mirrored the soft hand feel of what we have and all the qualities of the fabric we currently use. We know our Nip Tuck ladies love our luxurious soft hand feel fabric and we didn’t want to sacrifice that. We wanted you to be buying a product that is benefiting the environment without decreasing the quality of our products.
Our Nip Tuck Swim recycled fabric has been specifically sourced and tested to make sure we are bringing the best to you.
To make it nice and easy, our fabric is made up of 100% recycled NYLON.
The fabric is knitted by recycled nylon filament which is made from 100% recycled nylon pre-consumer material.
Pre-consumer are items e.g water bottles that have been mass produced but could not make it to the shelves or be sold. These items are sourced and taken back to a factory that has them broken down into fiber to be made into threads. From these threads they are knitted into our four way stretch fabric and we have our 100% recycled nylon.
This saves tones of waste being thrown into landfill and filling up our earth with plastic.
The fabric we use has the Global Recycled Standard certification, so it has been giving the approval by the rules and legislation and is legitimately made from recycled materials.
Our Nip Tuck Swim team are continually looking for the best recycled fabrics on the market. As we continually want to be improving our brand and improving our carbon footprint. We are always on the look for the best environmentally benefiting recycled fabrics.
If you are in store, you can recognize our suits that are made of recycled materials as they have these tags on them ( see below), you know that the outer fabric of these swimsuits is 100% recycled nylon fabric.
SOME OF OUR RECYCLED PRODUCTS:
These will help you easily identify our recycled fabric swimsuits.
Now we have only tested the fabric on our one pieces however, we are working on expanding the use of the fabric into our two-piece swimsuits as well, Tankini sets and bikini sets. Please note, not all our one pieces are made from our recycled material. This is something we are working on for the future.
Our next step to helping the environment is looking for 100% recycled lining that is the same top-quality that we use today.
Our end goal is to create 100% recycled swimsuits for our Nip Tuck ladies.
Caring for our environment is very important to us at Nip Tuck HQ. Everyday we are working on improving our systems and the way we can do production or just everyday tasks to help benefit and protect the environment we live in.
We create the swimsuits, so you can create the memories.
